Game of Thrones movie confirmed!

STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING: There’s an ACTUAL Game of Thrones movie happening, according to George RR Martin.

The A Song of Ice and Fire author apparently confirmed the film to Daily Star on Sunday, saying: “There will be a movie but I will not be involved.”

The even better news for fans of the TV show is that it’s set to be made by GoT showrunners and exec producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff: “I have too much to do. That is something HBO and the D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do.”

Says Martin, “The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster.”

ANOTHER AWESOME THING: ASOIAF readers, at leas the next book is going to be a priority for the author.
Apparently a “source” has confirmed the movie further: “With the Game Of Thrones universe there is much rich material and no constraints on when that story will take place.”

And that could EVEN mean a prequel featuring characters currently dead, teases the source, “They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot. That means that some of the big characters who fans have seen die on screen could be resurrected such as Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Oberyn Martell The Red Viper – and Ned Stark.”

“George has written about a raft of other characters in the books, which have been as long as 1,200 pages.” the source adds, “Some of those could be used for a completely separate idea and plot. George has created such an expansive universe of characters over 8,000 years of history, the possibilities are endless.”
