Skrillex and The Game team up for the nastiest trap of the year on “El Chapo”

Completing a comeback that’s been a long time in the making, The Game is ready to deliver his double-disc sophomore offering Documentary 2, as a follow up to his solo debut over a decade ago. The landscape has changed considerably since the former G Unit proponent’s heyday, but now as The Game steps back into the spotlight, he’s bringing Skrillex along for a reintroduction on “El Chapo” before the record drops. To the delight of trapheads everywhere, the superstars’ collaborative effort is not for the faint of heart; this one is enough to make your nose bleed.

Allowing Frank Sinatra’s “Granada” to introduce the track, Skrillex takes over with a stomping trap arrangement, firing sharp hi-hat flurries over metallic barks, leaving Sinatra at the door with a finger in his face. No stranger to the crossover of hip-hop and electronic genres, Skrill follows up collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Vic Mensa, and 2Chainz on “El Chapo” — although none of the rap Sonny’s been featured on hits quite this hard. Channeling a veteran swagger as he unloads endless lyrical clips, The Game takes no prisoners on the joint offering, donning a larger-than-life, Escobar-ian flow over this ruthless heater.
